Roof-module electrical gremlins
Intermittent, the worst kindHow it shows up
The switch does nothing. Or the roof runs half its routine and stops with a warning chime going. Or — the truly maddening version — it all works perfectly for a week and then refuses again. Tired microswitches, chafed wiring and connectors that have met water all produce the same symptom: a roof you can't trust.
Why it gets misdiagnosed
An intermittent fault that won't perform on cue defeats most general workshops: they either find nothing and hand the car back, or start replacing parts on spec at your expense. And with Holden gone, even finding a workshop willing to open the diagnostic conversation with a Cascada roof module is half the battle.
How we fix it
The roof module keeps a record of every failed cycle, whether or not the fault performs for us. We plug in, read what it logged, then test the specific switch, sensor or circuit it names. Repair, recalibrate, cycle-test until the routine runs clean — a specific diagnosis, not a parts lottery.
