Stops mid-cycle with a warning on the dash
Roof control module · position sensorsHow it shows up
The roof starts, folds or lifts to the same point, then stops with a message and won't go either way. Sometimes it completes on the third try, which is the car telling you a sensor is on its way out. Sometimes the switch does nothing at all and the roof warning is on before you've touched it.
Why it gets misread
The whole roof gets quoted for what is usually one position sensor that has moved, a wiring plug that has corroded, or, on this car more than most, a control module that has genuinely failed. Telling those apart is the whole job, and guessing is expensive.
How we fix it
We read the roof's own fault memory, then confirm it by hand on the car: which sensor, which circuit, which point in the cycle. Sensors and plugs are replaced individually; where the module has failed, it is replaced and coded to the car. Then the roof is cycled through every position to prove the cure. If yours is stuck partway right now, don't keep pressing the switch; call first. Covered by our parts & labour warranty, and if the roof ever misbehaves after, you call us first.
